Chris J. Wahl Memorial Fund

Sadly, we have lost a close and dear friend much too early. After an 8 year battle with colon cancer, our incredibly gentle and fun-loving friend, Chris J. Wahl, (AKA Peanut) passed away at home surrounded by his beautiful family on October 24, 2017. He was 53 years young. 

To those of us who knew Chris, he was gentle soul with an easy way about him. He was fiercely loyal, the best listener and was always engaged when speaking with anyone he came across.. He had kind eyes, a huge smile, a dry sense of humor and while his preference was to keep a low profile, he was always up to the task when it meant bringing a smile to the faces of his friends and family.

Chris leaves behind his wife Traci, his beautiful and loving partner in life and his two smart and vibrant teenage daughters Lexi and Lindsey whom he cherished every single day he was able to share with them.

Chris and Traci fought this battle head on as Chris overcame not one, not two, but the first three instances of his disease. He fought until the end, never asking for sympathy and with a grace we are only left to fathom. In his final days, Traci welcomed so many of us to their home and was grateful for all of the visits and well wishes while never asking for anything from any of us other than a hug and a smile for Chris.

She is a remarkable woman now faced with a future without her husband and best friend, and the monumental task of continuing to raise her girls, in the face of financial uncertainty. While we know she is strong, capable and up to the challenge ahead, we want nothing more than to provide Traci and the girls with the comfort and space to grieve, and to assist with the difficult task of navigating this new reality.

It is with their future in mind that we have created this GoFundMe campaign to remember Chris fondly and to support his beloved family as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.  This fund will help Traci thru this transition, assist with medical bills and  plan for their futures while she focuses on providing Lexi and Lindsey with all the love, stability and support they have come to count on during their young lives.

Thankfully, Chris gave us all so many happy and lasting memories we will always cherish. Let’s honor him now with our financial support to Traci and the girls. Look at it as if you are buying Chris dinner or sharing a cocktail with him. It was always a great time
