Coming Together for Chris Andre

Family. Over the decades this word has had special importance for Chris Andre.  "Family is not bound by the blood we are born with, but grows with those we are fortunate to meet along the way".  This was experienced by many of us from his live music with The Louie's and the We Are Family dance parties he organized and played at over the years, in Santa Rosa and throughout the SF Bay Area.

Unfortunately, Chris has been sick for the last year and unable to work.  What was initially misdiagnosed as minor gastrointestinal issues, was actually diagnosed on December 16th, 2017 as colorectal adenocarcinoma cancer.  He's been trying to fight this cancer alone, but that is no longer a choice.  He is faced with a significant battle ahead and a long road to recovery.  He didn't want to ask for help, but it's evident to all of us close to him that he needs us now more than ever.  We are reaching out with hope that his friends, family, and the greater Bay Area community will come together to help him heal, and rise above the challenges he's been struggling with on his own for too long.

I, Megan Rhodes, am set up as the beneficiary of this fundraiser and the funds are being withdrawn into an account specifically set up for Chris. He and I have known each other for almost 3 decades. I am the mother of his child. He and I are inextricably linked for the rest of our lives, and his health and well-being are of the utmost importance.

I’m in Santa Rosa and check in on him on a regular basis. With his family, I am supporting his medical, nutritional, and comfort needs. This money we are raising is being deposited into an account that is being used for all of his living and medical expenses. The money is being paid directly to Chris or to the various expenses. His step mother, Lori Andre, is also on the bank account and helping manage his financial needs.
