Chris' GBM brain cancer fight fund

On August 9th, Chris went to the ER for headaches and changes in his speech. They performed an MRI which showed a 5.4 cm tumor in the left frontal lobe of his brain.  Chris was rushed to surgery that night to remove the tumor. The tumor was later classified as Grade IV glioblastoma.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is an aggressive, incurable form of brain cancer that can be challenging to treat. Currently, the standard treatment options aim to slow progression of the disease, but contribute little to the overall survival.

Chris is a loving husband and father who dedicates his life to his family, which includes raising their 9 year old son, Matthew.  Prior to his diagnosis, he was freelancing translation projects and contributing to social media projects for various companies. He has not been able to return to work. Chris also has a deep love for classical music. It has been a heartbreaking, puzzling and overall emotional time for Chris, Mihaela, Mathew and their family.  It was only a year ago that Chris was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Chris is currently halfway through chemotherapy and radiation. He is doing well overall but fatigue is starting to settle in. Through their strong faith, Chris and his family have hope that he will be one of the 2% who beat the odds and pass the expected 12-18 months survival rate.  

Chris and Mihaela have been researching various clinical trial options including the Optune device and ketogenic diet. They are also seeking alternative cancer treatments through naturopathic cancer clinics within the US and abroad that offer hope, improved survival and quality of life. They have had several inquiries from loving family and friends on how to help.
