Chris' Stroke and Brand New Family

I never wanted to do one of these but the way this past year has gone has pushed us here. All of the money that I had saved for us having a son is now gone. I've applied to every assistance that's available but it takes time for those things to take place and it is highly unlikely to get approved for assistance.  I've racked up between 30-50 thousand in bills and havent been able to work yet. About a year ago I was diagnosed with 'asthma' for the first time in my life.  In June I started having coughing fits that would last 3-12 hours at a time with severe wheezing where I could barely breathe. I did everything that my doctors told me to do.  The week before my sons due date in August I was let go from my work. Along with that so went my health insurance. My coughing spells became more intense and were almost constant. The wheezing that came along with them kept me from being able to breath and our son started wheezing as well. We started couch surfing with family so that I could lessen the symptoms I had been experiencing and prevent our newborn from getting sick because he is more succeptible.  So, in the beginning of November I had a stroke that the operating surgeon said was direct result from my coughing fits.  What had happened was that the coughing caused a tear in my carotid artery which started collecting blood in the tear until the clot became large enough to block off the artery starving my brain of blood. I had one stroke at home as Stephanie and I were getting ready to take 2 month old Harrison to his grandparents so that we could have a date night together before she and him left to go on a family trip. What would have been the first time our family was apart. After I went to the Parkwest hospital they let us know that they couldn't do anything other than scan and start blood thinners as surgery was needed. I started to have another stroke and was rushed to Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. The staff there started an intervention surgery to remove 3 blood clots and repair my artery. That's where they put a chorded robotic device up my femoral artery (crotch) to reach the brain, which is very painful and there is no anesthesia for this procedure. I was wide awake and I could hear and feel them poking around in my brain which was very painful, like having tiny needles poking your brain.   I've regained most of the motor movement on the left side of my body. The nerves are all messed up though. If i reach into my pocket I can't tell what I'm grabbing. If it is colder or warmer outside then I have shooting pain along the left side of my body that feels the same as having near frost bite and running warm water on it. The same thing happens if Harrison grabs my arm with his cold hands. So far we've got about 40k in bills that I know of and I really need to be able to follow up with doctors and get medication like this week.  We're needing to move what stuff we can get out of our place soon which we will throw away most of it. We appreciate everyone that has helped so far and anything else would be sooo appreciated.
