Chris Magdziarz: Road to Recovery

Chris has suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis for the past 23 years.  In those 23 years Chris has undergone  18 surgeries and was forced to retire from her nursing career at the age of 38.  Unfortunately pain and suffering are not new to Chris.

Chris’ most  recent struggle began February 1st when Chris was having severe pain in her right foot.  After the pain increased, Chris went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with septic arthritis.  It was  life-threatening.  It traveled through her bloodstream and attacked three joints.  The primary and worst location was her right ankle.   Eight straight hours of surgery were performed to remove the infection.  Her right ankle is still healing eight weeks later.  

Chris was in the hospital for 14 days before transferring  to a rehabilitation center where Chris has participated in extensive physical and occupational therapy for the last 6 weeks along with IV antibiotic therapy.  She is thrilled to be returning home, but her therapy will continue for several more months.  Along with all of this treatment comes MANY medical bills. 

First and foremost continue to pray for strength, healing and wisdom. Chris is quite sure that one of her arthritis medications was the root cause of the sepsis. So, another challenge that Chris will be facing is to find a new arthritis regimen.  The future is daunting, but Chris knows that God will direct her every step of the way and give her the strength and wisdom she needs.
