Chris was in a motor cross accident on July 3rd which has resulted in - an incomplete traumatic spinal cord injury. Below is a list a injuries resulted from the accident. Chris is self employed & the money received will help the Chris & Alicia DeJong and family with financial burdens of being off work.
Chris had T5 and T6 burst fractures which compressed and stretched his spinal cord. He also has fractures to C6, T3, T4, T6, T7 and T8. He fractured 6 ribs (3 on right and 3 on left), and broke his sternum. He had a partially collapsed lung as well. He had surgery to decompress his spine at T5-6 and T7-8. They inserted 2 rods from T2 to T8 and inserted plates and screws to fix his spine. He will be in the hospital for at least 6 more weeks.
