My name is Pastor Greg Young and I do a radio show called Chosen Generation where no topic is off limits and everything is filtered through biblical glasses.
My show is now on 38 stations across the country and the message is to awaken people of faith to become engaged in what is happening in their communities, cities, states and nation. Before you conclude that I am a hater or some other nasty name that is often hurled at people of biblical faith let me say that my show attempts to bring a reasonable argument to the issues that impact people with a biblical worldview. Some say that a Pastor does not belong in a political conversation, however, it was the political power that the Saduccees and Pharisees were afraid of losing according to John 11:46. Nearly every issue has been politicized from marriage to baby birth to what bathroom to use. Yet in each case there is a biblical standard and I believe that bible believing people should have the right to hold to those beliefs.
So what do I need funds for? My main computer just died and had to be replaced. My goal is that the ministry not be in debt and I had to borrow to get the computer. I need $2000 for the computer. I am also raising funds to pay for additional promotion to enlarge the radio audience. Social media is now throttling down all content unless you buy time and pay to promote the product. I have plenty of content I just need the funds to make a splash in promoting it. So $2000 will go to the computer and $3000 will go to a two to three month campaign to promote the show and hopefully grow the audience. Below you can read some information that describes the message that the show is sharing. We have been doing this for 8 years.
I believe that God sent His Son because man is in a fallen state and sin is in his nature. Today we are seeing the ravages of a nation that has been over run by the ills associated with sin. The values of life, love, joy, peace, opportunity, grace, mercy, faith, courage, truth, justice, obedience and forgiveness are not being lived out in our culture. A Biblical worldview seeks to see these values employed in our society with a biblical standard not with mans interpretation of it, The Bible is very clear in the presentation of its truth and about the benefits of living out that life. The Bible is also clear as to the consequences that exist when we do not. The Chosen Generation Radio show seeks to express that view of right and expose the opposition views and give reason for the objection in practical terms.
Here is probably the best analogy. Lets say your friend goes to the doctor because they are not feeling well. After consulting the doctor believes that your friend might have cancer. They refer your friend to an oncologist to run tests and see if that is the case with the hope that an early detection could lead to a full recovery. However your friend is only given half the story and so you are brought in and advised that the referring Doctor feels the situation is critical and asked to be sure to get your friend to make and keep the referral appointment. Because this is your good friend you follow the Doctors instructions. Your friend goes to the oncologist and the results of the test ae positive. The oncologist however gets to know your friend and feels that the treatment will disrupt your friends lifestyle and that your friend would be better served not knowing the real diagnosis. The oncologist calls the referring physician and says that the test was positive but he is going to tell the patient not worry about it and to let your friend live their life and not interrupt it. The oncologist also says that they are friends with the Medical Board Chair and so if they say anything their medical license will be pulled. You try to tell your friend but the oncologist has already warned your friend about you and so they stop talking to you because you tell them the truth. This is what happens when we refuse to share the wages of sin and how destructive it is to everyone including those we are trying "not to offend".
From a Constitutional perspective free exercise of religion is guaranteed as much as is free speech, freedom of the press, freedom to express grievances with the government, referred to as redress and freedom of peaceful assembly. These are all five found in the first amendment of the Constitution, Freedom to keep and bear arms is the second amendment and many say it defends the first. I say that it does but that the first is what makes having the second make sense to begin with.
