Chopper spinal surgery

Hey guys, my name is Mollie, and my little French bulldog Chopper is in need of spinal surgery. He started showing symptoms of being in pain the night of Thursday October 1st, he was yelping when touched and every time he moved. The next morning we thought he was getting better, just being a little lethargic so we thought that maybe he ate something bad, up until later that day he collapsed and wouldn’t get up, and was breathing really hard.  In the short drive from our home to the emergency vet, he lost all feeling and function in his back legs. They immediately assessed him, took xrays, and hooked him up to an IV of pain meds and steroids in hopes that would solve the issue. Saturday morning October 3rd, the emergency vet gave us the horrible news that unless chopper met with a Veterinary Neurologist and  got spinal surgery, he would probably never walk again. If anyone has ever met Chopper, they know what a sweet baby he is. He’s more than just a dog to me, he’s my best friend and my biggest baby. He’s the center of attention in our, and our kids lives. Running and playing fetch is his favorite thing to do, second to cuddling me. He’s only one year old, and so full of life. Chopper has healed a part of my heart I didn’t even know was broken. Him not being able to walk, wouldn’t be the end of the world, but it would be the end of the chopper we know and adore. The thought of him never walking again has me shattered. We are still trying to get over the financial burden of Covid-19 and the shutdown, and this couldn’t have happened at a harder time financially.
