Chocolate City Farmers Market Farm

Chocolate City Farmers Market recently secured a plot of land in the DMV on which we intend to build our own farm. The land sits on a former plantation where African-Americans were once enslaved. Now, this land will be used to grow produce that will nourish the bodies and souls of the community in the DC Metro area.

After planning with our farmers and researching other small farms in the area, CCFM determined that it needs $10K to build out our farm (including materials, labor, and seeds). So, WE NEED YOUR HELP. Please give what you can and share our mission with others. No amount is too small (or too BIG!).

About Chocolate City Farmers Market...
Chocolate City Farmer’s Market (CCFM) consists of a monthly farmers' market primarily sourced by Black and women local growers, food vendors, and small crafts vendors. CCFM also produces nutrition and STEAM workshops and events with local youth in partnership with local public and public charter schools in DC. And by next spring, we hope to launch the CCFM Farm located in DC Metro Area.

One of the foremost objectives of CCFM is to bring healthier, locally-grown food options to historically underserved populations and parts of the city that are classified as food deserts or transitioning from that designation.
