Hi all! With crazy COVID times and winter coming, my parents and I have decided to take on a 'virtual' bike ride to Guatemala to raise money for the non-profit organization Partner for Surgery and would love your support! In August of 2018 my dad and I hopped on a plane down to Guatemala City to be a part of a week-long rural medical mission. The programs they run are made possible by international volunteers and donations, so we’re looking for your help to support this awesome non-profit! We figure the ride is close to 7000km from Victoria to Guatemala City, and will be adding our distances together in order to reach this goal.

More information about Partner for Surgery: Partner for Surgery is in the forefront of medical and surgical care in Guatemala, helping impoverished Guatemalans (mostly Mayan) living in remote locations. Children with cleft lip/palate, fathers with hernias, and mothers with early signs of cervical cancer have all received our help, building trust locally. From our Guatemalan Health Promoters, to our network of Rural Midwives, to our medical teams in the field or at our surgical facility, we bridge the language, distance, and cultural barriers, making each patient's long trip from their village and back home again a safe one. Programs and services include: Nutritional assistance for children with cleft lip/palate, Mobile Medical and Surgical Missions, Cervical cancer screening/treatment,Escort/Interpretation/Support for the surgical journey.
