<div>I have been going through the public system for 7 years trying to get answers which is starting to feel impossible through their system. I am in emergency almost every single period due to severe blood loss or pain which makes me lose consciousness for 30-45 minutes causing unsafety. Due to the public health system I am met with the same conclusion to be put on a waiting list for the public gynaecologist to pick me up. It's been well and truly over half a year since I had yet another referral put into Monash Health and they haven't picked me up at all. I've had ultrasound after ultrasound, each one puts me in extreme pain, and they have the same outcome every single time. And yet they won't put me in for the appropriate surgery to diagnose me until they pick my case up.

<div>Being able to have access to private gynaecology is important to me as it will speed up the process by quite a lot and I will be in better trusted hands. I am constantly in pain as my periods last weeks with no set duration. I am in agonising pain and the pain caused from my uterus is constant not just on my period. I want to be able to function and be able to live an ordinary life without chronic pain. There is also major risk with prolonging the appointments, including the chance of bleeding out and the longer it takes the more chance I will have to lose my uterus and any ability to start a family.

<div>The gynaecologist I am choosing to go through is one I trust as he has believed and shown my family that he cares about his patients and their wellbeing, when other doctors have not given that grace. He helped my mother get a hysterectomy and subsequently saving her from the severe blood loss and pain she had to endure.
