Chive's Emergency Visit to the OR

Donation protected
Chivey was going about his normal daily routine at the dog park when he had to be quickly rushed into a NYC taxi to the Animal Hospital for emergency surgery.

What happened: A woman at the large dog park was throwing a mini tennis ball around for her 5lb dog. Successfully beating Chive to the mini tennis ball, Kyle kindly asked the woman to please avoid throwing the ball in fear of a larger dog swallowing it. Unforunately, the woman threw the ball again after Kyle's plea, but this time Kyle was not able to beat out Chive from playing with what he thought was a normal size of his favorite toy. Chive accidentally swallowed the ball and panic set in. This all was occuring while the woman tried to get up and slyly leave the dog park after seeing what had happened.

Chive was quickly transported to the Animal Hospital where the amazing veterinarians and surgeons ran us through all of our options. Surgery had to be done before the ball was lodged into Chivey's intenstines in fear of an obstruction.

The good news: Chive truly means the world to Kyle and I. He is our right-hand-pup and is the glue that holds our relationship together. He is our running partner, peanut butter loving, and always happy-go lucky pup that truly brings so much happiness to our lives and to the lives of others he has met. As doggie parents, we are so relieved that Chivey is out of surgery and recovering well.

The bad news: This unexpected expense has left Kyle and I trying to figure out how to sucessfully pay for the overwheming bills. We were determined to have anything necessary done in order to ensure Chive's wellbeing. While that is true, emergency surgery for animals really do add up quickly. So quickly, that before we knew it our bill had tallied up to $4,200 for saving Chivey's life.

I never thought in a million years that I would ever have to sit down and write a GoFundMe campaign for Chive. Kyle and I would be forever grateful for any type of blessing that we could be graced with towards Chivey's vet bills. We wanted to say thank you in advance for any donation, small or large, and that we are so happy to know that we are dearly loved by family and friends. We also kindly ask if you could please share this campaign on your Facebook to help up get the word out!

Thank you so so much!

Kyle, Amanda, and Chive
