Chit Htoo's Support Fund

Chit Htoo and his family came to the US in October 2012, from a refugee camp in Thailand. They are very dear friends of ours. Chit Htoo is 22, and has a wife and 6 month old daugher, Selena. On September 21, he was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and subsequently life flighted to Mayo Clinic. He was diagnosed with a brain AVM, which is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels connecting arteries and veins in the brain. The AVM ruptured causing a bleed in his brain. He was in a medically induced coma for at least a week. He is now recovering, and waiting to be moved to Brooks Rehab. He has little function in his left side, however he is talking and mentally seems to be doing really well. He has started eating on his own again. He had no health insurance at the time, but has recently been placed on Medicaid. He was the sole source of financial support for his wife and daughter. We don't really know at this time, if and/or when, he will be able to work again. He is recovering, but it is a slow process. The doctors don't really know what permanent long term damage the AVM has caused. We pray that he will be able to walk again. Also, the AVM, which is deep in his brain, will have to be treated to prevent further bleeds. This is a complicated situation because of its position in the brain. Please pray for 100% recovery for Chit Htoo, for the needed treatment to repair the AVM, and for his family as they care for him. It will be a long road, but we already see God's presence in his life. He is already a miracle! We are seeking funds on behalf of his wife and daughter, for living expenses until she can find a job. Also, at this time, we have no idea what kind of medical expenses there will be. Thank you!!
