<div>Nous sommes une équipe de six étudiants de l’INSA Toulouse et de l’Université de Toulouse (anciennement Université Paul Sabatier), participant à la compétition internationale de biologie synthétique iGEM. Cette année notre projet s’inscrit dans le thème de la recherche fondamentale en créant un outil d’ADN miroir permettant de nombreuses applications comme une amélioration de diagnostic ou des thérapies ciblées pour le cancer. Les frais engendrés pour mener notre projet à bien sont importants et nous avons besoin de vous ! Merci pour votre aide !

<div><strong>Notre objectif : créer un outil d’ADN miroir</strong>
</div>
<div>Dans le cadre de la compétition internationale iGEM, qui vise à résoudre des problèmes actuels grâce à la biologie, l'équipe toulousaine a décidé de travailler sur un projet innovant : créer une molécule d’ADN "miroir" ultra-stable. L'objectif ? Développer des outils pour un diagnostic ultra-précis de maladies comme le cancer ou les infections virales, ainsi que des thérapies ciblées qui préservent les cellules saines, de manière plus éthique et plus durable.

<div>Une partie du financement nous servira à l'achat du matériel nécessaire à la réalisation de nos expérimentations. En effet, nous passons trois mois en laboratoire pour démontrer la fonctionnalité de notre système.

<div>De plus, nous menons des actions de communication d'une part, pour faire connaître notre projet et la biologie synthétique au grand public ; d'autre part pour pouvoir échanger avec des professionnels spécialisés pour améliorer notre système.

Elle s'est constituée en janvier 2026, et dès lors, des réunions hebdomadaires nous ont permis de déterminer le projet que nous souhaitions défendre cette année et d'avancer sur les multiples aspects du projet : communication, pédagogie, recherche de fonds, organisation, interviews d'experts…

<div><strong>About the project</strong>
</div>
<div>We are a team of six students from INSA Toulouse and the University of Toulouse (formerly Paul Sabatier University), taking part in the international synthetic biology competition iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine). This year, our project falls under the theme of fundamental research, as we are creating a mirror DNA tool with numerous potential applications, such as improved diagnostics and targeted cancer therapies. <div><strong>Our goal: to create a mirror DNA tool</strong>
</div>
<div>As part of the international iGEM competition, which aims to solve current problems through biology, the Toulouse team has decided to work on an innovative project: creating an ultra-stable “mirror” DNA molecule. The aim? To develop tools for ultra-precise diagnosis of diseases such as cancer or viral infections, as well as targeted therapies that preserve healthy cells, in a more ethical and sustainable way.

<div>Part of the funding will be used to buy the equipment we need to carry out our experiments. We are spending three months in the laboratory to demonstrate the functionality of our system.
