Chipo chamwari Childrens home

The Chipo Chamwari Foundation aim to create a safe learning environment for abandoned babies and children of Harare, Zimbabwe that aims to benefit them in their childhood and throughout their adult lives.

I represent these children as a previously abandoned baby myself, dumped at just oneday old. I was lucky enough to be found, returned to the hospital, and subsequently adopted. Recently I was fortunate enough to return to the place I was born to reunite with my biological family. My story was presented on the Australian program Sunday Night and narrated by the talented Matt Doran.

Whilst there, I visited the place where i was born, Harare hospital. I met a gorgeous 2 week old baby boy who, like myself, was abandoned by his mother. There was an instant connection; I was once in his positionand holding him absolutely broke my heart.

There are countless homeless, parentless, and disadvantaged children on the streets and the existing homes around Harare are already at capacity.

Chipo Chamwari's Children’s Home is my vision. It won’t be like the others. It is a place to nurture, teach, educate and provide for children from birth through to their late teens, and when they are old enough, leaving them with a qualification that will provide them anopportunity to further their education and career.

Our future generation is our greatest concern.
