Chipa Wolfe Memorial Fund

Chipa Lone Eagle Wolfe died at the early age of 62 on April 10, 2016.

He was dedicated to his family, saving animals, promoting the real Native American history through educational programs, powwows, and helping the environment.

He leaves behind his wife Ruby, a Lakota Indian, young daughter, Cecilia and son Joshua.

He had been very tired lately and on March 2, 2016 decided to go see a doctor. The doctor sent him to the ER and once there they admitted him immediately; he had a 99% blockage in his left carotid artery. The prognosis wasn't good, surgery was performed to correct the blockage after which he suffered a small stroke. A few days later a brain bleed developed at the site where the first stroke occurred and Chipa was then moved to a larger, better equipped hospital in case brain surgery would become necessary. A few days later he unfortunately suffered a massive stroke and after numerous tests, the doctors realized that nothing more could be done for our friend and so he went home until he passed away early Sunday morning on April 10, 2016.

I can't imagine the thoughts racing in his head. He was a brave spirit and was always humble and kind to everyone whom he met.

He had been hospitalized before his death with no medical insurance. His family needs funds not only to continue Chipa's work in the community but also to pay some long outstanding and current hospital bills. They have several rescued animals they care for daily.

Together, Chipa, Ruby and Cecilia would go to military bases, companies and colleges to teach diversity programs concerning the Native American Indian cultures.

We are raising funds to pay outstanding bills, medical costs, cremation costs and educational costs for Cecilia to continue her education.

Chipa was an awesome man with a heart much bigger than anyone I've ever known. He went to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit and rescued a lot of animals, and many of these lost little souls found a home on The Wolfe farm in Jasper, Georgia. Later, he returned to New Orleans, with a few of them, to reunite them with their human families. This was Chipa Wolfe. He dedicated so much time through out his life to saving those who needed saving, people and animal alike. And he never wanted nor asked for anything in return.

A week prior to surgery and, in his hospital bed, he recorded a message for us all, and he did it with humility, kindness and that easy humor he had. He wasn't sure if he'd make it but just in case he didn't, he wanted to let us know how much he loved and cared for us all.

I've created this Go Fund Me account for his family, whom he loved so much. He wasn't a rich man by way of money or things, yet he was rich in his love for his family, friends and animals. He was a one of a kind.

Please donate to this fund so Ruby, Cecilia and Josh can continue his legacy in what he believed to be the best ambassador of the Native American culture he could and the rescuing of so many that need them to do so.

I, thank you in advance, and know this- you are so appreciated with your generosity. Chipa had a saying to "Have a Happy Day" and he shared that with everyone whom he met.
