Chioma Emergency Brain Surgery Fund

Donation protected
Hello Family & Friends,
My name is Gus Bradford, and this GoFundMe is for my dear 41-year-old wife, Chioma.

Chioma was rushed to Southdale Fairview Hospital on Sunday, April 14th @ 3:30 AM in the morning, and was diagnosed with bleeding on the left side of her brain from a burst aneurysm. Chioma was then emergency ambulanced to the University of Minnesota Medical Center where a surgeon performed an 8-hour emergency brain surgery on my dear wife. Thankfully, the surgery was a success & the surgeon was able to stop the bleeding in her brain by clipping off the blood supply to the aneurysm.

Chioma would undergo 3 more surgeries. Due to developing double pneumonia with severe difficulty breathing, she underwent a tracheotomy surgery. Her final surgery was to reattach her bone flap back to her skull, which is secured with plates and pins. Chioma was mostly sedated, in critical condition while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for 21 days.

Following ICU, Chioma was ambulanced to an Acute Care Hospital where she received continued
medical care and therapies for a couple weeks. Upon Chioma getting stronger, she was ambulanced to a Transitional Care Unit (TCU)

At the TCU for 2 weeks, Chioma received continued care of her trach tube and received several different therapies: Physical, Occupational, and Speech.

Chioma’s three therapies will be ongoing, with Speech therapy indefinitely, due to the location of her brain aneurysm being on the left side of her brain, which is the language center and greatly affected.

June 7th UPDATE: After 54 days, Chioma is now resting comfortably at home, however, she still has the trach tube down her throat, so we had a medical crew come in and set up her entire necessary respiratory equipment. Chioma will continue to heal & improve at home and although we are at home, there still is a long road ahead for Chioma, and she requires 24/7 caregivers.

I continue to do fundraising to help pay for the numerous medical bills as well as other expenses that are starting to pile up due to the loss of half of our household income.
My darling wife of 13 years, Chioma is precious to me & I don't know what I would do without her. If you're able to help fund my cause & make her road to recovery a bit easier, Chioma & I would be eternally grateful. Anything you're able to give is very appreciated so please consider giving to my cause.

Thank You in Advance & Be Well Everyone!

Sincerely,

Gus Bradford
