<div>I'm Marilyn Shi, the founder of Chinatown Community Fridge &amp; Pantry and a junior at Stuyvesant High School. This month, our team of students and local volunteers has hosted <strong>weekly pop-up pantry distributions for Chinatown seniors</strong> with donations from our partners at Gorillas USA, Welcome to Chinatown, and Send Chinatown Love. <br /><br />Our community fridge is a<strong> communal grassroots </strong>response to the <strong>critical food insecurity</strong> exacerbated by the <strong>COVID-19</strong> pandemic. With <strong>daily fresh produce </strong>pickups from partner food organizations, a network of trusted volunteers, and an array of sanitary products and pantry items, our fridge is accessible to anyone in need. Anyone who passes by is welcome to take what they need and share what they can—<strong>all free of charge</strong>.

<div>All funds raised will go <strong>directly to building a weather-proof shelter for our fridge, supplies for a pantry on its side, and all food, cleanup, and maintenance costs associated with the fridge</strong>. Our fridge is scheduled to launch along Baxter Street by the end of <strong>December 2021</strong>, and having these funds is crucial to ensuring the <strong>safety and sustainability </strong>of our fridge.

<div>Chinatown is a rich cultural community whose high population of working-class immigrants is combatting COVID-19 racism, gentrification, and more.
