Chilliwack Overdose Prevention Society

Our Founders are front-line staff from the Downtown Eastside, they have been helping communities battle the Fentynal Crisis since 2016. In 2019 they relocated to Chilliwack after hearing there was a desperate need for support in the community.  Chilliwack's community is fragmented and this results in a large number of community members being forgotten or left to have addiction claim their lives. Our founders were a part of the first publicly pro harm reduction programs in Chilliwack, but it did not fill the desperate need for support. Over the last year, countless individuals have had their lives claimed by overdose, which with harm reduction and safe consumption could have been avoided. So came the beginnings of the Chilliwack Overdose Prevention Society, where we can take a step toward humanizing addiction, battling preventable overdose deaths, and helping marginalized individuals reclaim their personal power!

Together as a community, we will see the end of the fentanyl crisis!

Some of the services we provide:

Braking the cycle - Harm reduction delivery, peer witnessing and community needle pick up

Sex worker safety - Discreet check-ins and safety plans for sex workers in the community

All of our services will be conveniently accessible via the Chilliwack OPS App coming July 2020

We are looking for funding to help provide our volunteers and peers with supplies and honorariums for their work. Funding would also be going toward the implementation of more services for the community!
