Called to Serve

An incredible opportunity has been made available to us to go on a mission trip to share God’s love with the people of Nicaragua, which is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere.  This is due primarily to Hurricane Mitch that destroyed the homes and possessions of 750,000 people in 1998.  The country continues to struggle even today as an extreme lack of healthcare and overall poverty have resulted in intestinal diseases and malnutrition being the leading causes of death among children under a year old.  And because of the lack of schools and teachers, the literacy rate is only about 35%.  We cannot imagine what it would be like to live in a place like this… how desperate they must be.

Because We Care Ministries, Inc ., has assembled a team that will travel to Nicaragua to share the love of Jesus Christ with these desperate people and we are beyond excited to be among those people.  The trip will be from December 27, 2014 to January 3, 2015 and while we are there we will distribute clothes and food, assist a local doctor with medical assessments/ treatments, do some light construction work, and do lots of evangelism with children and adults alike.

We are humbly asking you to prayerfully consider joining us in this journey of faith. The two greatest needs we have as members of this team are spiritual and financial.  Specifically, for both of us to go the trip will cost $2800 (which includes airfare, ground transportation, meals, lodging, insurance, etc.) and we will be called upon to boldly share our faith in word and action with many people who have simply never before heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Would you consider joining with our team and us by offering your prayers and/or financial support?  We are required to raise all of our own funds through personal sacrifice and through the generous giving of people such as you and we are confident that God will provide for us so that we can go on this trip.  If you feel led to contribute financially, please make your check payable to Because We Care Ministries, Inc. and mail or give it to us.  Please note that your contribution will be 100% tax deductible if the memo line on your check is left blank.

Lastly, but most importantly, please keep us in your prayers. As our faith grows stronger and our callings become clearer, we need prayers for strength to continue and protection from obstacles that may come into our paths. We will keep all of our supporters updated on the blessings (as well as the challenges) that we experience during this awesome journey of faith.

It is our goal to raise Braydon showing him what it means to be a Christian, not by society’s standards, but by Jesus’ standards by loving, serving, and giving. Please pray for our strength to do this now and throughout his lifetime.
