Children's Falconry club outdoor classroom appeal

Wide Eyes Falconry are a family-run community interest group with a love of birds of prey and a passion for educating children.

For more than eight years, they have run a Children's Falconry Club, which not only educates but brings together children of all ages, backgrounds, situations and abilities, giving them an all-inclusive safe space to learn about Falconry and be themselves.

The children's club runs all year round and in all weather. Over the past couple of years, multiple marquees have been used to provide a dry space out of the wind when needed. These are susceptible to damage by bad weather, and sadly the recent rain and winds have now destroyed them beyond repair.

Wide Eyes desperately need to provide shelter for the children otherwise, they may not be able to continue to run the club throughout the winter, and this would be disastrous not only to Wide Eyes but to all of the children who are part of the club.

Many of the children who attend the club have difficulties in their lives; they rely on the club for a safe place where they can get away from these difficulties. Some of the children have been attending for more than eight years, and Wide Eyes has become a vitally important part of their lives, providing them with friendships and support they would not find elsewhere.

Funds are urgently needed to build a more permanent, weather-resistant, outdoor classroom/shelter to ensure that the club can continue to run throughout the winter.
