Derrick Hood open heart surgery

Our wonderful son Derrick seemed so invincible 15 years old an athelete running for miles daily constantly working out. Involved in ROTC at school has hopes to go in the Navy, loves sports a courteous, well mannered young man. And on November 20th of this year we were informed that he had a Cardiac Arrest at school wrestling practice, luckily the coaches and Trainer were trained in the use of a defribulator and CPR and were able to bring him back. We feel extremely blessed not to have lost him that day but the Doctors at Sunrise Hospital have discovered a rare defrmity in his Coranary Artery which needs open heart surgery to correct. And the deductable for our PPO is very high and we will be due for more in January. When the new year starts so it can be a struggle for families especially at the holiday season we are hoping this may make our christmas season even more of a blessing.
