“Children of the Cross” for Persecuted Christians

The Children of the Cross Apostolate are prayer groups (mostly of children) who meet at least every First Friday (some elect to meet more often) to pray Catholic prayers of the Rosary, Chaplet of Mercy, Litanies, etc., for priests and persecuted Christians. They also cover all of my work of the Fiat Foundation that serves the poorest of the poor in these persecuted countries with their prayer. They pray for the world in general as well as local situations of persecution, especially of the unborn threatened by abortion. They uphold our priests in their important work of bringing us the sacraments. And they teach the children involved to be instruments of the peace of Christ's Love in the world. They are a powerhouse of grace in the world.

We have a few local groups of Children of the Cross in the US, hundreds of children involved in Nigeria, 800 children in Pakistan, 5 groups in Afghanistan, and we just founded more groups in an orphanage (and soon to be prison) in Ethiopia. Fundamental for the growth and sustaining of these groups are copies of my book 'Raising Children of the Cross' which serves as a handbook for the spirituality of these groups -and at the end explains how to form and run these groups. The chapters with Scriptures about children, Baby Jesus, Infant Mary and Child Saints serve to inspire the children in Holiness. Practical suggestions of growth in virtue are also taught in this book.

Last year we provided 1000 copies of this book for free in Pakistan at Christmas and the fruit has been astounding. We are in dire need of 1000 more copies of this book to continue to grow our ministry. The cost of this will be close to $1400 including transfer fees, etc.,

I didn't ask for donations on giving Tuesday because I am not looking for people to donate simply to be part of a trend -I am looking for donors who are truly committed to the mission of the Apostolate of Children of the Cross -who will sacrifice to help us monetarily, as well as be united with us in prayer. I ask that this Advent season you prayerfully consider sponsoring our persecuted children with a donation to help print books.
