Children of Inmates

KIDS in the LOOP is a nonprofit organization committed to nurture, support, and educate children of Ohio incarcerated parents by strengthening family life through quality resources and youth and family development programs. We have sponsered two family days: 1) A Healthy Back to School event where children, inmate parent and custodial parent gathered to learn how to have a successful school year. Backpack with school sipplies were provided to the 30+ children that attended. 2) celebrate Holidays, Celebrate Families was another family day that 40 children particiapted in with both their parents. Crafts, games and gifts wereprovided for the day. Both days offered the opportunity for a family to spend the entire day together and breakfast and lunch were provided. We would like to repeat with a Summer Safety Day and another Back to School day in another prison. FUnds for the first event will be needed by March first and the second July 1, 2017. What a wonderful opportuntiy for these children!!
