Children and Widows Protection & Fellowship Group

Greetings, my name is Natalie Andre and I'm fundraising for The Children and Widows Protection and Fellowship Group (CWPFG) located in a remote area of Kenya. In a world where many people are on the run, refugees from disasters of many kinds, helping people live decent, safe, productive lives in their original communities makes a lot of sense.

Therefore, I have established a GoFundMe for this small community in rural Kenya. I learned of them through two friends who personally know a high school teacher living there and native to the area. The teacher is Odongo Kenas, and he is mentoring the leaders of a local group, Children and Widows Protection and Fellowship Group (CWPFG) founded in 2001 and dedicated to empowering girls and women by:

· Campaigning to make parents aware of, and sensitive to, the importance of girls’ education…

· Promoting high quality comprehensive sex education in school…

· Providing information and access to a range of modern contraceptive methods through youth-friendly centers…

· Supporting young mothers’ return to school through paying for their tuition school fees as part of a post pregnancy program…

· Developing a cadre of youth peer providers to serve as peer mentors...

· Empowering women through village saving and loaning schemes…

· Empowering women in rural Kenya through entrepreneurship training

Their funding needs are small, as dollars go a long way in that community. Giving a small amount through GoFundMe, or a larger amount either through GoFundMe or directly to me, would help them immensely.
