Children of Bangladesh

When I look at this picture, I am reminded of the privileges my daughter Aisha is born into. While Aisha’s first year of life hasn’t been easy (lots of doctor visits and hospital stays), she is blessed to have two sets of parent and immediate family members who provides her love, care, and protection. However, not all children are lucky like little Aisha.
Bangladesh is a poor country in South East Asia and there are millions of people who struggle to survive. Amongst these people are tiny humans who either have parents (who can’t do much for them) or tiny humans who don’t have parents (orphans). These orphans are either left to survive on their own or are taken into orphanage centers that are either government funded or privately funded.
To alleviate the pain and struggles of some of these orphans, my dad has been blessed with the opportunity to build and run an orphanage center in a small village in Noakhali, Bangladesh. This year, my dad is looking to improve and expand the already existing orphanage center so that he could provide the best care and education to those who are already there. He is also looking for ways to help more children by giving them shelter in the center. Almost none of these kids will be adopted so they rely on the resources from the orphanage center for survival. In addition, during my trip, we plan on giving back to the orphans and poor people in the surrounding area by setting aside a day or two to feed and interact with them.
Inspired by my friend-sister Rafiya, I set up a go fund me to help my dad raise money for this cause. We are all lucky in more ways than one so remember that giving a $1 or $2 won’t affect our livelihood. Maybe, skip one trip to Martha’s, the movies, the mall, etc. please be a part of the cause and help bring positive changes to these children so that they could avoid being in the streets at such young age doing hard labor. Thank you!
