Child Mental Health Support

Bridge the Gap Child Mental Health helps parents and children to develop practical strategies that support a child's emotional development, well-being and mental health. Mental health is often talked about in terms of crisis, but we encourage children to talk about mental health early and often. This helps them to have the tools and vocabulary to effectively communicate how they feel and have a good understanding of what mental health is.  

With your support, we would love to continue to run services for both parents and children in our local area, in Derby, as outlined below:
 
1) We would like funding to introduce FREE drop-in sessions for children aged 11-16 within schools in Derby and Derbyshire. These would be led by our two directors Senior Mental Health Lead Nikki Webster and Emotional Literacy Trainer Jennifer Wyman. We hope to provide a safe space for pupils to access expert support as well as signposting them to appropriate online platforms. 

2) Free fortnightly parent support drop-in sessions. Parents/carers are invited to sign up to 30-minute sessions, at local, easy to reach venues, and in areas that require most support. They will receive expert advice from a registered mental health nurse whom has additional training in CBT and family therapy and from an experienced early years educator.
