Hello Friends and Family,
Child Life has always been and will always be more than a job to me. The children and families that I care for demonstrate remarkable resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. Their stories are a constant reminder about the fragility of life and the need for constant growth and improvement of the healthcare system.
Over the last four years I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to provide child life services to children through home and hospital based programing. As our health care system evolves it has become undeniable that physical and emotional wellbeing co-exist. This realization has made way for remarkable progress in the delivery of pediatric healthcare.
Through Child Life United and Child Life Romania I have been offered the opportunity to travel to Romania this November to support the development of a university level child life program. While at Emmanuel University I will teach 8 hours of child life curriculum to social work students interested in the field of child life. My teaching will focus on my experience providing palliative and hospice care. I will also spend time in the community looking at local hospital and hospice programs.
I am beyond blessed that this opportunity has come to be and am reaching out to request your financial and emotional support as I take this next professional and personal step. Financial support received from this page will go towards Flights, housing, transportation, and other logistical fees.
