Chief was born last in a litter of 10. When he was born his back legs were all twisted up. At every stage in his short little life he has trailed behind his siblings in overall growth and weight gain. He has excelled, however, in his ability to overcome all that life has put in front of him. Whether it was fighting to nurse on Mom, or holding his own in puppy play. Chief is a fighter! When Chief was 6 weeks old we heard of a rescue and he was accepted. There were some communication issues and he was not picked up as agreed. That is when I took him home. He is mine! I would not change a thing, a moment, a tear, or a single conversation that brought me to this place.
I am writing this to ask for your assistance in financially supporting Chief in the next step of our journey. After having a consultation with Dr. John at Casa Grande Animal Hospital it was determined that amputation of right rear leg will provide him with the best opportunity at a "normal" life. My prayer is that by removing the right leg, the left will grow in strength and can be saved. There is of course a chance that the left leg will also need to be amputated, but we are not there yet.
The amount asked for on this Go Fund Me Page is for the initial surgery. Any funds raised over and above the amount listed above will be used for follow up care and any subsequent surgeries that may be required. Once Chief has recovered and it is determined that no additional funds will be needed to care for his amputation surgery the additional funds will be used to pay for medical expenses that occur in the life saving procedures done for the animals of Valley Humane Society, Casa Grande Az.
Please know that any and all monies attained through this page will be used to fix the broken, the forgotten, the lonely and the lost dogs and cats that pass through my care and the care of all of those fighting in the trenches each day to save one more at Valley Humane Society.
