Chief Conquers Cancer

Have you met @chief_on_main?? You may have seen him laying around town (usually in the road up on Daly), chilling at Stoked Roasters, or greeting kids at the Swaner EcoCenter.
On Tuesday, August 14th, Chief was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, an extremely aggressive bone cancer. His mom, Natalie, sprung into action and started talking with veterinarians across the western US to figure out the best possible treatment to help Chief live as happily for as long as possible. Each of the vets who have seen Chief are shocked he's still walking because the cancer has already significantly damaged his leg; Chief is still his usual self--running, playing with other dogs, and chasing (and popping) tennis balls.
Chief is currently scheduled to have his front leg amputated on Thursday, August 23rd. He will need ample support and rehabilitation as he adjusts to his new lifestyle. He will then likely undergo chemotherapy. He is also a potential candidate for two medical trials at Colorado State University and in Las Vegas. All funds raised will go directly to helping to pay the costs incurred to treat Chief.
Natalie is one of the kindest and most involved people that I know. She is an integral part of both the Salt Lake and Park City communities. From running youth education programs at the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, to managing the Sugar House Farmer's Market, to being one of the most recognizable faces on the trails (thanks to Chief!), Natalie selflessly gives back. Please join us in rallying around Natalie and Chief, so that Natalie can focus on helping Chief, rather than worrying about the financial burden at this time.
