Chico School Ready

Two years ago I was purchasing school supplies for my son and I decided to pick up a little extra for his class.  As I made my way around the store I had a feeling, an inside pull at my heart, telling me I had to do more. So, what started as me picking up a few Backpacks and binders pencils and paper developed to so much more. Water bottles, sharpeners, erasers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, tissue, sanitizer, and small snacks. With the help of a few kind-hearted people my kids and I got 40 "loaded" backpacks donated a the local homeless shelter, Catalyst women's center and Boys and Girls club Of the north state. Such an amazing feeling and fantastic lesson to my children to "give back"!!
This was such a great lesson for my children, to learn to give to others. This project is very special to me!  If it wasn't for the giving hearts of others I would have started many school years with nothing. This is more than paper and binders, it's confidence and a sense of worth. Fitting in is hard enough as a child,  but if we can start the year off right, at least with the basics, this could mean so much to so many children, but I can't do it alone. I need to raise some $$ to get the packs together. It takes a village! let's see how many kids we can help before school starts. We did 40 our first year and 89 our second year. Our goal is 150 this year! Help us make a difference!
