Chicago Ratna Shri Building Fund

Dear Friends,
I am hopeful that you might feel moved to make a contribution to help us purchase property to ensure the longterm stability of Chicago Ratna Shri.
Currently our center operates out of a rental property that has become a sacred space in which to quiet the mind where we offer an ongoing schedule of teachings to residents of the Chicago area and to visitors from around the world.
The space however is quite small and can fit no more than fifteen or so individuals at a time. Often during teachings and events the capacity isn’t sufficient to comfortably fit everyone who wishes to attend. It has become clear that in order to meet the needs of our growing community, we are in need of a larger space.
It is my wish and aspiration to purchase a larger place rather than find a new location to rent. That way we can create a long lasting and stable Dharma center which will be able to provide benefit to others for generations to come.
With our current location the Dharma center has been paying rent which has come to total more than $100,000.00 over the past ten years. I feel it will be more practical and beneficial to pull funds together as a downpayment to buy a permanent location. That way monthly payments can help build equity through a mortgage rather be consumed as rent.
It is with this in mind that I am making an effort to fundraise and I kindly request your support. To date, we have raised $30,000.00 for our building fund and here I am setting the goal of $50,000, hoping that with $80,000 we might be able to at least cover the downpayment on an adequate location.
