REDZOVIC JIU JITSU RELIEF FUND: Financial Strain due to Covid Crisis
2020 has been a roller coaster of a year to say the least. Our organization is celebrating 20 years of teaching Jiu Jitsu in the Chicago community, a milestone we are incredibly grateful to have achieved. Unfortunately, we are also facing challenges we never thought we would be navigating.
As a result of government shutdowns, imposed regulations, and the overall effect that Covid-19 has had on our society, our schools are struggling.
The two schools we operate are going through a unique set of challenges because of the number of accounts that have become inactive due to freezes, cancellations, and delinquent payments.
We are extremely thankful to all our active members & non-members, who have kept their accounts active as well as those of you who have reached out inquiring how you can contribute and support our school. It humbles us to receive these expressions of compassion, kindness, and generosity from our community. We have created this fundraising campaign as a secure and legitimate means of collecting funds from those who are able to assist.
Up until now, we have managed to pay all our operating costs such as rent, utilities, and payroll. We have done our best to maintain staff and provide them with as much security and stability as we can. We are optimistic that we will grow as a community during these challenging times and evolve into an even better organization.
The harsh reality is that we are not going to be able to maintain our current operations much longer without assistance. We never thought that we would be in a position like this and it is difficult to seek this type of aid. However, the support and encouragement we have received from our community has provided us the confidence we need to do the hardest thing, which is asking for help.
Adem Redzovic will be entrusted to these funds which we plan to use for payroll, rent and other operational expenses for the Loop and Lincoln Square schools as needed, as Adem deems necessary between the two schools to help us navigate through the remaining uncertainty of the current covid strain placed on our schools.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support during these unprecedented and difficult times. We hope you and your loved ones are well and we look forward to sharing the mats with you some day.
