As Dustin Drase of Cole's Bar (our fave post-work hangout, right across the street <3) said, "This is a rough one, kids."
You already know about the COVID-19 global pandemic. You already know all Illinois bars and restaurants are closed indefinitely. What you may not know is that service industry workers generally do not have sick pay, PTO, or vacation time. We simply do not make money if we are not actively working.
We are the crew of the Chicago Diner in Logan Square. The Diner is just two restaurants- we are are a *very* small business. We do not have investors, a restaurant group, or any kind of support outside of you, our guests- our Logan Square community.
We are asking you for your support in this crisis. If a Chicago Diner employee made your day, comped you a drink, brought you a hot meal, or was kind to you in any way, consider donating.
Don't forget about our line cooks and dishwashers. They are hourly employees who work very hard to keep the Diner running smoothly. You may not see them when you visit, but they are there, and they have mouths to feed, and kids, and rent to pay, just like the rest of us.
