The Covid-19 epidemic has impacted our world tremendously. It is impacting many small businesses all around the Chicago Area, the Diner included.
We are an incredibly small, family-owned restaurant. We don't have a lot of the abilities that large corporations and chain restaurants do. Our staff is entirely supported by you, the diners. When they are not actively working, they are making NO income at all.
Being closed for dining in is directly taking away the income of over 40 people in our location. Our servers and front of house staff rely on tips to survive. Our hourly employees, like the line cooks and dishwashers, bust their tails to make sure the restaurant is running smoothly in the background and many have families that rely on their income at home.
This is where we ask for help from the community. Our staff doesn't have the luxury from working from home, and their income is completely depleted at this time.
If the Diner has impacted you positively in any way - given you your first milkshake because you're lactose-intolerant, made going out to eat easy being vegan, had a great conversation with a server, felt safe being your authentic self in our building - please consider donating.
All of the money collected here will go directly to the FOH and BOH team members who are unemployed at this time to help with rent, food, and general things needed to survive.
