Hello! My name is Devin LePere and I am representing Chi Psi fraternity in Alpha Gamma Delta's philanthropy, Mr. Greek. Every year, a member of each fraternity house is selected to be their representative in the philanthropy and this year I've been honored to be chosen as Chi Psi's participant.
With any philanthropy event the main cause is to give back to those that are less fortunate and this year all proceeds collected will go towards three great organizations: Meals on Wheels, Feeding America, and Tree House for Kids. Hunger is a major issue in our country with 1 in 8 people struggling with food each day, that's over 40 million people. Both organizations are working to help these people, old and young, get the nutritious meals they need each day.
Nearly 1 in 6 seniors are dealing with hunger and Meals on Wheels is working to help these people. Founded in 1954, Meals on Wheels is community driven throughout the country, annually helping nearly 2.4 million senior citizens! But as our population ages they are going to need more help than ever to keep helping the seniors around the country eat. It would be amazing to help those who helped raise us. Feeding America also works to provide the millions of children and adults who do not get the meals they need to thrive. They work with farmers, manufacturers, and retailers to get the essential food to people in need. Last year alone, they gave out 46 million meals to those in need! Last but not least, Treehouse for Kids provides foster children with clothes, school supplies, and food. Things kids should never go without. Last year they helped 6000 kids in Kings County alone! To continue their great work, these programs need the aid of fundraising efforts like Mr. Greek. To get more information on these organizations check out their websites:

These people across the country need help fighting hunger, and receiving clothing/ school supplies and change starts with people taking an active part in initiating that change. Chi Psi has played a very active role in the last 7 years in raising money for various causes and I can't wait to play my part in keeping the tradition alive and giving back to those in need.
