Food industry workers are often the canaries in the coal mine when it comes to social and financial upheaval. This latest crisis is proving to be no different, though is affecting us in drastic and devastating ways.

As all New Yorkers know, the places where we gather to eat are sacred. They build community, strengthen friendships, serve as spaces where we can celebrate with family, laugh with friends, and comfort our neighbors. We are here for you when you need us, and we are asking now if you can be here for us.

While the workers at Chez Ma Tante wait for their possible unemployment checks, there is no safeguard. We have no security, many of us care for families, have no savings, or are sending money home to our loved ones. Please consider providing some relief so we can make it through this crisis.
