Cheyenne's Medical Fund

How do I even begin....Cheyenne is an amazing, beautiful, sweet, smart 15 year old that has overcome so much in her short life. She touches the heart of everyone she meets. She teaches us how to live our lives gracefully and appreciate life. Unfortunately, now she faces another mountain to climb.

Chey has had an extensive medical history stemming from a genetic disorder known as Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. She also has a seizure disorder and a vp shunt. She has already undergone multiple surgeries, traditional radiation, chemo and proton radiation for one tumor in her brain approximately 8 years ago. Cheyenne has overcome all of the problems and deficits related to that brain tumor and was doing very well until a new, dangerous tumor was discovered last November. It has quickly grown to a nearly inoperable size and is located in her skull base and c2 vertebrae of her spine. We have found a team of talented and amazing doctors including an oncologist, neurosurgeon, ENT surgeon and plastic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA that are willing to do the time intensive and dangerous surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible.

Her surgery is scheduled for December 7th with a vertebral artery occlusion procedure to be done 2 days before. The surgery and the occlusion are very risky but at this point due to the growth and size of the tumor, we have no other options. Cheyenne will then have to go to San Diego Rady Children's Hospital for very specific proton radiation to try to completely stop and kill the remaining tumor that IS inoperable due to its location in the C2 vertebrae and spinal cord.

We decided to start this gofundme account because not only will the surgery and radiation treatments be extremely expensive but we will have to get an apartment for a few months in San Diego during her radiation. Cheyenne will have proton radiation 5 days a week. It would be too far to drive daily and cause Cheyenne a lot of pain and distress. Paul, her dad, and 3 younger sisters will be with her everyday in San Diego while I remain in LA to work. We will be maintaining two households and a full time care provider.

It is important that Cheyenne be as comfortable as possible while she undergoes these treatments, especially so close to her major brain and neck surgery and reconstruction.

We are fortunate and blessed to have a wonderful employer that has completely supported us throughout this complicated process and illness. Any and all money will go to Cheyenne: to her treatments, any medical equipment, therapies or necessities she will need to keep her as happy and pain free as possible. This is a very complicated and scary procedure. Any help, prayers and positive energy you can send will help her family and her. We deeply thank you in advance for all you help.

Sincerely,

Cheyenne and family
