Chesterfield Community Food Hut

Hi everyone! Thankyou for taking the time to visit this page. Chesterfield Community Food Hut was set up to help our local families and vulnerable people in need at this extremely difficult time. The world has been turned upside down by the horrendous Covid-19 virus. People that have worked day in day out all their working lives to support their own family have now found themselves in an awful position, unemployment, lowered or no income. We have been contacted by the elderly and their fantastic caring neighbours, to learn they have gone up to 2 weeks without any fresh food and limited supplies. We have parents not eating so their children can have food in their tummys. These are incredibly hard and distressing times. We have contacted local businesses and local people and had some fantastic donations of food, which we are eternally grateful for however we are now running on extremely limited supplies. I am sorry to set this page up but I am at the point now where I am worrying where the next days food is going to come from for our needed locals in our community. We have supplied over 100 food parcels per day and each and every person has been very grateful.  If anyone could donate, it does not matter how little, this will enable us to buy more food to make meals for the vulnerable, should any donations be received I will update with receipts showing the amounts etc. There are now 3 of us running the community food hut and we are working tirelessly whilst still juggling family life. We are out collecting, sorting, packing and delivering from morning until night, I will continue to do this whilst ever we get the donations coming in. I am so very proud of our small community, pulling together at a time like this, a time when we need to the most.
