Urgent Need!
We are in desperate need of $5000 to stay in our home and pay legal fees. My name is Cheryl and two years ago my life was turned upside down when I was diagnosed with Lyme Encephalitis. Lyme Encephalitis is Lyme disease that had infected my brain and nervous system. I lost my vision, my ability to speak and understand written language. I was unable to walk without a walker and was in unimaginable pain.
After months of IV antibiotic therapy and physical therapy I started to improve. At the one year mark I was much better, but the extreme fatigue, headaches, and weakness in my legs continued. My doctors informed me that these symptoms would most likely be permanent.
It was at this point that my husband of 24 years told me he "did not sign on to be a caregiver" and moved out. Leaving me, in my weakened state, to care for our two children, two dogs, two cats, and my elderly father.
The marriage had been an abusive one and him leaving was probably the best thing to happen. However, he was the sole financial support for our family. Now I am left with two children to raise, and elderly father battling cancer to care for, and a limited earning capacity.
My ex continues to manipulate and control me in the only way he can now, financially. Knowing we are reliant on his support, he abruptly stopped paying in December. I fought to get support started again while struggling to keep food on the table and heat our home. The rent fell behind, and lawyer's fees accumulated.
Now we are facing an emergency situation and need to get current on the rent to keep our home. In order to keep my lawyer, stand up to my ex and keep my children safe, the lawyer needs to be paid.
We are in need of $3000 to pay for two months of missed rent to keep our home and $2000 to help with legal fees. I can't do this alone and I need your help.
I have so many wonderful friends and family who want to help but are unable to come up with this kind of money.
I am asking you to give whatever you can and then share this with as many people as you can. I cannot do this alone, but together we can do anything.
