Guatemala Mission Trip

On July 8^th, 1973, Don and Leanne Ehnat welcomed their second daughter into this world (that would be me, Cheryl).  They provided me with many opportunities in life while investing their love and resources into the person I would become.  While there are many lasting legacies my parents gave to me, the one I treasure the most is caring for others. This summer, I will have the amazing opportunity to put this lasting legacy into action as I serve Christ on my first mission trip abroad with High Pointe Church.  While this mission trip is significant for a number of reasons, one of the nearest to my heart is that I will be serving with Orphan Outreach, an organization that is committed to serving orphans and children at risk around the world. As a mom of two adopted sons, I can't imagine a more profound way to celebrate my 40^th year alive. 

 As a member of this mission trip, I will be serving in Guatemala from July 5-13, 2013.  While in Guatemala, we will be working in Cerro de Oro, building a home for a family in the village. In addition, we will be teaching a program for elementary/middle/high school students who attend a small public school in Cerro de Oro.  When spending time with the children, our main purpose is to minister to their needs by building relationships to show each child that he or she is loved unconditionally and is special in the eyes of our heavenly Father. 

I can't do this on my own and am in need of the support of friends and family to make this happen.  I am thankful for your influence in my life and would love for you to be a part of this mission trip with me. One of the ways you can help me is to pray for the ministry we will provide. Please pray that all work would be done according to God's will and for His glory. Also pray for the people we will serve, for unity among my team, and for the details of our travel and itinerary.  Please also pray for me, personally.  Pray for me to be open to God's plan for my service in Guatemala and for me to rely on Christ's provision.  Please also pray for Deon, whose support and sacrifice has made this trip possible. Finally, please pray for my boys, Jalen and Jeremiah, who are our greatest gifts in this world.

I would also appreciate any financial support you can give. The cost of the trip is $2,500, which includes airfare, food, bottled water, lodging, insurance, interpreters, and transportation. If you are able to make a gift to assist with my expenses, you can donate online.  Another option is to donate by mail.  If you prefer this method, please let me know and I will mail you a response card for you to send to High Pointe Church which would allow for a possible tax deduction.
