Cheryl Elliott's Journey

Aunt Cheryl

As many of you may know, my God-mother, my Aunt Cheryl, was recently diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This devastating news has hit our entire family hard. Aunt Cheryl is a rock in our family. She is the person who has always reached out to anyone she felt was in need, even at times, to the point of her own exhaustion. And she does this without complaint and with a truly giving and loving heart

With this diagnosis comes anxiety and pain for her and her family. Physically the tumor has already begun taking its toll on her body, causing great pain and sickness over the last 6 months (or longer). Mentally, she is fearful, but also, empowered by the love and strength of her Savior. She knows that God has a plan for her, and her devotion to this truth will carry her through even the darkest of hours.

Her treatments begin this week (Dec. 6th) and will continue until the tumor can be shrunk enough to be removed. This option alone is a miracle! Uncle Tom will be at her side every step of the way, and many will be holding her in their thoughts and prayers.

Need

She is receiving treatment at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, Illinois. They have been a blessing to her and Uncle Tom with their compassion, care, and knowledge. But this will be a long road for them. While the Center does help provide support, as we all know, a cancer diagnosis is difficult and costly.

Although our whole family, especially her kids and my mom, plan on being there as much as possible for her, Uncle Tom has still had to take a considerable step back from his contract job position, which unfortunately means a loss of income for them. And although Aunt Cheryl is blessed with an employer who is doing all they can to help, medical bills, travel expenses, and other bills are already starting to accumulate.

How we can help

If you are able, please join me in helping to provide support for Aunt Cheryl through this difficult time. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Another way to help is to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Also, please keep Uncle Tom, and my cousins - Ashley, Marisa, Nick, and Mallory, their spouses, and their kids all in your prayers as well.

I know that Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Tom are so grateful for all your support!

Love and warm wishes,

Brittnee Hathaway
