<div>My name is Cheryl and I am in a desperate situation.  I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years and I can't be with him anymore.  Like all relationships, it started off great, but as time has gone on, he's become an emotional void, draining me of every bit of positivity I can give.  He almost never works, leaving me to pay nearly all of the rent.  He gets pet cats from foster homes and gets mad at me when I can't deal with them.  He's admitted he's lost interest in me.  He gaslights me when I am affected by his bad moods.  He has even threatened to harm HIMSELF on MULTIPLE OCCASIONS… but the local police can't or won't do anything to help.  He refuses to get help himself, and instead wallows in self-pity most of the time.  He's as emotionally toxic as it gets and I'm at the end of my rope.

<div>Recently, I got fired for being late to work and now, not only am I desperate to seek a new living space where I am free of him, but now I'm jobless in LA.  I don't trust easily, so moving in with others is not an option.  I kind of want to move back to New York but I can't afford moving out right now.   Please help.
