At 6:05 PM on 9/24/2025, an Earth Angel - who I and 4 others were blessed to call Mom and many call MawMaw-gained her heavenly wings. She now gets to see her parents and her only sister and many other family members again in Heaven. She had been sick and in the ICU for 3 weeks. She was fighting her hardest fight. She seemed to be getting better and was able to sit up, talk, laugh and of course give us some sass, but soon after her body decided it wasn’t strong enough to continue fighting. She knew it. She decided to not continue treatment for life saving measures but for comfort until she passed, and as hard as it was to accept, it was hard for us to watch her suffer trying to fight a battle that was just too strong for her to win. We accepted her wishes. We all got to hold her hand, kiss her and let her know how much we loved her and she was able for a few brief moments to tell us too. This is one thing I am grateful for during this time as many people don’t get that chance. Now, we have to lay her to rest. She was on disability as she had worked her whole life to support us-her children and a granddaughter until she couldn’t work any longer. She did not have savings or life insurance as she barely managed to get by day to day on the little she had. Her children are trying to gather funds up to be able to give her the farewell she deserves. This comes at a time where I have been paying for a wedding and so now, I have to finish paying for my wedding and my mommas funeral. So to everyone who has donated and shared to help send my momma off with her final farewell, just know that we greatly appreciate it. My independent side has always been too big to ask for this kind of help so doing so hasn’t come easy. I also want to thank each and every one of you who has sent prayers for my mom and my family. As soon as we get her services figured out, we will let everyone know. My momma loved like no other and never knew a stranger. She was kind, gentle and would give you the shirt off her back. She was selfless with a heart bigger than this world. Her absence will leave a scar on many’s hearts but she will be remembered as the most loving, caring person anyone had known. Days ahead will not be easy for us but as my momma would always tell me-you will be fine, it will all work out and everything will be ok. I have always believed her. So I am holding on to those words.

Any donation would be appreciated, even if it’s prayers!

Our family will announce the funeral details on social media.
