Hi my name is Cher, I am a transgender woman skateboarder.
I have been a professional musician for the past 6 years, only paying my rent through touring. I have been transitioning for 8 months now and due to health complications both mental and physical, can't do that at this time. I have actively searched and applied for jobs for the past 3 months with no luck whatsoever. I am trying to take the next step in my transition, but I have been to multiple LGBTQ+ centers and have received little to no help that I can afford. I am currently unemployed and have had to go to the emergency room multiple times due to not having hormones, the funds to see a doctor, and skateboarding injuries, which have racked up expensive medical bills I can't pay. Skateboarding is my only outlet and I am slowly bouncing back from being injured. It makes me so sad to have to ask for help, but I have nowhere else to go, I don't have a relationship with my family and I have no source of income. I have also sold all of my material objects to use the money for living expensive, and after paying this months rent I have nothing left at all.
If you donate, all of the money would go to my transition, health, and safety. The costs of surgery are overwhelming, and so are the other costs of transitioning which include, changing my name, HRT, therapy, hair removal, facial reconstructive surgery.
Anything at all is so appreciated I can't even express it. I want to continue skateboarding and inspiring other trans people to follow their dreams.
