Cher Cleveland needs our help.

Sometimes irony is a little thick.

For those who know cher her livelihood as a physical therapist assistant means she helps people struggling to overcome illness and injury that keeps them from, among other things, walking.  Enter the freak accident that will keep her off her feet, away from work, and most concerningly, her clients who rely on her for so much.  I'll let her tell the story.

"It was 7:30pm Sunday (3/8) at Santos at the 1st half of Indigo Flow. I was done riding for the weekend and watching Hunter, Miguel and Alex get their last runs in. I was standing about 6' off the side of the trail (4' behind a big boulder and 4' in front of a big tree). Hunter went for a nice tire grab to end the night and it didn't go well. He didn't get his hand back on, got squirrelly, nailed the rock in front of me which instantly stopped his bike and propelled him through the air head first into my stomach. We flew together. I felt (and heard) my back and head slam into the tree hard (luckily I was still wearing my helmet). We fell to the ground. He said "omg, are you hurt? Are you okay?" while feeling my back. He lightly brushed my my leg which made me gasp "Oh, don't move!!!" I thought I was okay but looked at my leg and saw my foot was not in the right spot at all. I said "no I'm not okay. By the looks of my foot my lower leg bones are broken and my foot is displaced." I grabbed my phone and found the closest hospital and pulled up directions. Alex and Miguel got his suv and loaded our stuff quickly (Hunter wasn't allowed to move because my leg was dangling on top of him.) They helped me stand up on 1 leg and I pulled myself in and off we went to the hospital.

Anyway 4 hours later they set my bones, I had 2 nerve blocks and we got back to Tampa at 3 am. Next day was painful. I saw an orthopedic surgeon who explained Friday's surgery and said 6 month recovery time.
And the rest is history! (Actually the future...)"

As hardworking and responsible Cher is, having been recently laid off her full time job, and been forced to work part time has put a big dent in her finances.  And while she has insurance it is woefully inadequate as these thing often are these days.  I'm still not sure she won't punch me for this, but if there is anything you can do to help someone who has helped so many both in their own convalescences, and on the trails, we humbly ask for that now.

Thanks.
