Surgery & Chemo for Brady

Donation protected
This is Brady, the best dog a girl could ever dream of.  He's been by my side for the last 10 years through some of the hardest times of my life (losing a parent, moving across the country, grad school, and even divorce).  Now I need to be there for him but it's going to take more money than I imagined.
Recently, at Brady's last semi annual visit, a routine blood test revealed elevated liver enzymes. 4 days later we were referred to a veterinary internal medicine specialist to have an abdominal ultrasound that revealed a large liver mass.  A CT scan was recommended if we even wanted to consider surgery.... $2500 dollars later we learned that his tumor was 15 cm in size and would eventually grow so large that it would take his life. Hepatocellular Carcinoma (a locally invasive cancer) was suspected and a $6000 surgery was highly recommended (even though there were risks that another cancer could be present). I decided to empty our savings and proceed with surgery. The surgeon decided to also remove his spleen because of a suspicious lesion.  Brady had a miraculous recovery and we were so hopeful!  But a week later, the vet called with the pathology report and Brady's spleen lesion revealed a very fast growing aggressive blood cancer, hemangiosarcoma. Without spending $4000-$6500 on chemo in the next couple of weeks, Brady's prognosis is very poor.  We need help!  Any amount that could be raised to help lessen the financial burden that this has put on me would be amazing.  I just started getting my feet on the ground after school, divorce, etc. Now after his surgery I have no more savings and I won't be able to afford chemo.  We would be forever grateful and my heart would feel less heavy if we could raise some money to try to give Brady the fighting chance to beat this cancer.  After Brady having to endure the pain and recovery of major surgery and me spending $8500 I just want to try to give him more time on this earth.  He is otherwise so healthy and vibrant - he's not ready to give up and neither am I.  I just have to find a way to pay for it.   His sister, Emma (my 6 year old golden) doesn't know how to do life without Brady either.... you would make her world happy too!  Love to all that are able to help.  Thank you from the bottom of my soul!

Sincerely,
Lauren
