Chelsie Shanea Diadhiou, a mother, wife, friend, sister, and goddess of light and positivity lived each day in love, honor and celebration for the gift of life.
Born September 21, 1976 to Charles Williams and Carolyn Barnes in Newark, New Jersey, Chelsie was full of energy and smiles. She attended Trenton Central High School in New Jersey and graduated in 1994. She went on to study fashion and technical design at Montclair State University, graduating with her Bachelor's degree in 1998. This led to a fulfilling career as a freelance technical designer.
Chelsie was aslo inspired by the words of great novelists like James Baldwin and Alice walker; later forming her own words to become a passionate writer, editor and storyteller.
From motherhood to lifestyle and culture, her writing explored various themes in her quest to stimulate thought provoking discussion about what it means to be a woman in today’s world. She was an advocate for health, wellness and self care. She enjoyed writing at cafes in Brooklyn and drinking coffee but most of all Chelsie loved her family.
Chelsie is lovingly remembered by her husband Moussa Diadhiou, and their precious twin girls Anna Awa and Ndeye Cor, and by her sister Shaneica Kutisha and brother, Rodney Barnes. She will be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from those who knew and loved Chelsie.
All monies will be donated to Chelsie's daughters, along with the funeral preparations ... handled by her husband, Moussa Diadhiou.
