Chelsey's memorial

In loving memory of the sweet and precious life of Chelsey.

Chelsey had a hard life right from the start, however that didn't take away her gumption for life, her sweetness of character and the ability to just make you adore her from the moment you met her! Sweet Chelsey was born addicted to drugs and had lots of medical issues because of it. Melanie was her foster Mom and then she adopted Chelsey. Chelsey was 22. On Wednesday July 19th, Melanie went into her daughter Chelsey's room to check on her and found she had passed sometime during the night.

Melanie is a single Mom with 2 boys. In addition to being Chelsey's Mom she also worked as her full time caregiver. She has a HUGE heart! She quit her job and changed her lifestyle when she decided to bring Chelsey into her family so she could give her the best care and life she deserved. This is a sacrifice few people will ever feel led and called to do completely. But Melanie has done it with such grace and love. In addition to their grief the income from being Chelsey's caregiver has now come to a stop. We hope to help Melanie transition into going back to work smoothly, as she was not in any way prepared for this.

Melanie is the type of person who is always doing for and helping others. Our hearts are broken for her. It is not easy being the caregiver, and its truly heart breaking when it is their time to go. This is a bit different in the fact that it was so unexpected. There were no signs, no warnings. No goodbyes. That is the hardest part.

Chelsey was a very happy girl. She loved to eat and people watch. She loved purses so much, Melanie would call her the bag lady. She had frequent seizures and lots of limitations. Melanie along with her boys worked hard to make sure all Chelsey's needs were met and she knew she was loved and beautiful. Melanie would ask her who is beautiful and she would always respond Chelsey.

Being a single mom she was not prepared for the huge cost of putting Chelsey to rest. Our hearts are heavy and we feel led to help her during this incredibly sad time. Please keep Melanie and her two boys in your prayers during this difficult time as they navigate down this road. Its a painful and hard road. We hope to help with the financial burden of laying her to rest, even if its just a little bit. Because at this point, every bit helps.
