Chelsee's Medical Fund

Chelsee needs your support as she undergoes medical testing and surgery.

Chelsee Uhrich is from Bethel, PA, and is one of the most loyal and loving people you could meet.  She was born and raised in Berks County, PA, went to Tulpehocken High School, and currently lives in Sinking Spring.  Chelsee lives with her fiancé, Adam, and their two adorable children, Stella Evani, 4, and Lucas Jai 2.

Chelsee’s medical journey started in October 2014 when she had a seizure in her home.  She had another seizure shortly thereafter, and knew something was wrong.  The Reading Hospital did some tests and it was determined that Chelsee had a brain tumor.  She was all set for surgery, was put under anesthesia until it was determined that the 3D Imaging was different from the original tests they had done, and the surgery was aborted.   She was scheduled to do more tests, and the second test was cancelled because of broken equipment.

Adam’s brother is currently doing research at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD, and was able to get Chelsee an appointment with a leading neuro-surgeon, Dr. Brem.  Dr. Brem, along with his team, have recommended surgery and treatment, based on the prognosis.  The medical team is currently calling the mass in her brain a ‘lesion’ until they have more information from the surgery which will take place on November 25.

Chelsee is an amazing friend, mother, neighbor.  Chelsee’s family has rallied around to support her and the kids while they travel from appointment to appointment.  They will have to spend time in Baltimore for follow up tests, but despite insurance coverage, the medical bills have begun to pile up.  Join us in rallying behind Chelsee and helping her to afford her medical coverage, as she battles back to full health.

Updates

11/13/14 from Chelsee:
Home from Hopkins with more plans of a craniotomy. They are referring to the mass as a 'lesion', because they say they don't want to label until it's tested and they know 100% what it is. I have a few more tests to have done (should be one full day at Hopkins), and my tentative surgery date is Tuesday November 25. I will probably be in Baltimore about 3 days post-surgery, assuming things go smoothly. Wish me luck. I'm a bit more nervous this time around, even though I'm super confident in their cutting edge technology!
